Missing money problem

Three men walk into Condorito's Pizzeria in NYC and order a large pizza each. They eat their pizzas and request the check. The waiter brings the check totaling  $30 ($10 for each of the pizzas). Each of the men pay with a $10 bill for a total of $30.

The waiter goes back to the cashier and gives him the money. At this point the cashier reminds the waiter that Condorito's is having a special on three pizzas—three large pizzas for $25! So he tells the waiter to give the men $5 change.

The waiter realizes that he can't split $5 three ways so he decides to keep $2 and give them only $3 change—he gives each man $1 and pockets the other $2.

Summarizing...

The three men spent $10 each for a total of $30, but each got $1 back. The net is that each one of the men spent $9 for a total of $27 ($9 x 3) and the waiter pocketed $2.

$27 + $2 = $29

But this SHOULD add up to $30 not $29!

Where is the missing $1?

The correct answer to the math challenge "What is the largest number you can write with just 3 digits?" is...

999 (9 to the 9th power of 9).

Work out the second and third powers first (9*9*9*9*9*9*9*9*9 = 387420489.)

Then restate as 9387420489

The Fibonacci Series is a sequence of numbers first created by Leonardo Fibonacci (fi-bo-na-chee) in 1202. It is a deceptively simple series, but its ramifications and applications are nearly limitless. It has fascinated and perplexed mathematicians for over 700 years, and nearly everyone who has worked with it has added a new piece to the Fibonacci puzzle, a new tidbit of information about the series and how it works. Fibonacci mathematics is a constantly expanding branch of number theory, with more and more people being drawn into the complex subtleties of Fibonacci's legacy. 
  
Fibonacci series definition
Fi·bo·nacci series (fē′bə näc'hē)
a sequence of integers in which each integer (Fibonacci number) after the second is the sum of the two preceding integers; specif., the series 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, . . .

The Fibonacci numbers are the sequence of numbers {F_n}_(n=1)^infty defined by the linear recurrence equation,
 
 F_n=F_(n-1)+F_(n-2)
(1)

with F_1=F_2=1.

As a result of the definition (1), it is conventional to define F_0=0.

The Fibonacci numbers for n=1, 2, ... are 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, ...
